Ten students and two teachers who belong to the Department of Asian Child Studies visited Bangkok, Thailand on November 10th education trip was to learn how economy or education in Asian countries today is developing. The next day of our arrival we went to see the slum in Khlong Toei. We also visited the kindergarten where children from the slum come to study. We became conscious of the kindergarten's strong will to stop the poverty through education. The teachers cannot count on family's discipline and children's ability considerably varies. So the kindergarten adopts the Montessori method and teachers watch over the children fondly. Duang Prateep Foundation manages the kindergarten and gives scholarship to older students. We sincerely thank Duang Prateep Foundation for allowing us to see everything at the slum and the kindergarten.
